The 2025 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft rolls on as we head toward the back half of the top-10. As a reminder, this mock draft is created by you, the viewer. We’ve gathered 31 of our most valued commenters and community members to act as NFL general managers, with our own Erik Schlitt acting as general manager for the Detroit Lions.
But we’re still far off from the Lions’ pick. Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets are on the clock, and commenter Toreyj01 has made their decision. Before we get into the pick, here’s a reminder who has been taken. (You can also now check out our POD Community Mock Draft Tracker here.)
1. Titans: QB Cam Ward
2. Browns: QB Shedeur Sanders
3. Giants: WR/CB Travis Hunter
4. Patriots: WR Tetairoa McMillan
5. Jaguars: DT Mason Graham
6. Raiders: EDGE Abdul Carter
With the seventh overall pick, the Jets have selected Armand Membou, offensive tackle out of Missouri.
Here’s Toreyj01 with the explanation for the pick:
With the seventh pick of the draft, the New York Jets select Armand Membou, a standout offensive tackle from Missouri. He is considered an excellent fit for the New York Jets due to several key factors:
1. Addressing a Critical Need: The Jets have a pressing need to bolster their offensive line, particularly at the right tackle position. Membou’s experience and success as a right tackle make him a natural candidate to fill this gap. This will provide a similar boost to the Jets that Penei Sewell did for the Lions, a foundational piece to an already solid OL whose greatest need is an RT.
2. Proven Performance in Pass Protection and Run Blocking: During his tenure at Missouri, Membou demonstrated reliability in pass protection, allowing minimal sacks over numerous snaps. This consistency is vital for the Jets to safeguard their quarterback effectively. His quick feet make him an ideal blocker for outside zone schemes, he can change directions smoothly when targeting second-level targets.
3. Freak Athleticism: On Bruce Feldman’s Freak’s List. At 320 pounds he only has 18% body fat with a 32-inch vertical jump, he can squat 600 pounds and moves exceptionally well. Processes stunts and blitzes like a veteran, can mirror pass rushers and has powerful hand strikes which can stun pass rushers. Quick feet and nasty finisher with impressive lateral agility and explosiveness. Runs a 4.91 40 and is only 20 years old.
In summary, Armand Membou’s combination of positional need and fit, athletic prowess, and proven performance aligns well with the Jets’ objectives to enhance their offensive line, making him a compelling choice for their first-round pick.
